Hiking
Before I became ill, I would spend weekends mountaineering and strolling along the banks of the Vardaar. I didn’t want to say goodbye to the habits I enjoyed and I set myself the task of walking a few steps more each day. Eventually I returned to the river bank. One day I managed a 10km walk with my husband; I was over the moon. I soon began climbing to the top of Vodno mountain (1060m). The first climb was the hardest; I could feel the pain moving from one joint to another and my muscles were shaking, but my husband and children would not let me give up. Salvation lies in physical activity and I hope I will continue walking down the path of life slowly but surely, with a heart full of love and gratitude for my family
